Their second Palisade home faced their first home, and they spent $8.75 million on it. The mansion, which featured a Traditional English style, was constructed in 1957 and rested on 7,300 square feet of living space. The mansion was a perfect place for family relaxing and hosting guests. It came with a panoramic view of the canyon, a hub garden, and large relaxation areas.
House Boat
Tom and his wife had a keen eye for property. They purchased the Alameda houseboat 1.1 miles from the ferry to San Francisco, which was constructed in 1973. The two special uniqueness, authenticity, and sophistication in their acquired properties. The house featured a fantastic and unique wooden interior.
Typewriters Collection
While many people collect shells, stones, cups, flags, stamps, among other popular items, Tom Hanks stood out by owning a unique collection of typewriters. At 19 years, he started collecting typewriters, and he never stopped. Challenges in storage and maintenance made Tom Hanks give away some of the typewriters, but he remained with what he said is among his favorites that are over 120 pieces. Tom uses his typewriters to create memos, shopping lists, and reminders that help him in everyday duties.
