It all started in 2018 when a French couple contacted law enforcement authorities after discovering that the Savannah cat kitten that they spent a whopping $7,000 on was surprising an endangered Tiger species. According to the couple, they respond to a Craigslist ad of a Savannah cat, a cross-breed of an exotic African serval and the domesticated cat. After waiting for their new pet’s delivery, the couple was utterly shocked to learn that they had received a baby Sumatran tiger, one of the most endangered cat species on the planet. The couple reached out to the police, who commenced investigations immediately.
It is 2020, and the police officials are happy to have ended their two-year investigation of the case. Their efforts led to the crackdown of nine individuals linked to the illegal trade of exotic, endangered animal species.
As part of the investigation process and standard procedures, the police were compelled to detain the couple as they began the case. They later determined the couple’s innocence on the case, and was later released from police custody. As for the nine suspects, the French police are compiling their case to launch their prosecution in court.
The police handed the Tiger kitten to the French Agency for Biodiversity, and we are happy to report that he is safe and thriving.
Every day, we experience and witness all sorts of occurrences. Some inspire awe, while others are incredibly surprising. Craigslist highlights mind-boggling horror stories, but this one surely ranks as the most terrific on the charts.
